Christmas Tears

It is the Christmas season
A time of joy, laughter and cheers
For parents who have lost a child
It is a time for Christmas tears..
It is not that we do not want happiness
As Christmas comes each year
Celebrating the season is not so easy
As we miss our children we forever hold so dear.
We smile when we hear others say Merry Christmas
Secretly holding back our flow of tears
We so wish to be able to enjoy the season more
It is just hard being joyful and happy this time of year.
If I knew Santa Claus could really grant my wish
I would ask him to please take away the tears
To restore my joy and happiness
And to give me the gift of you this year.

Laurie's Tree of Life

Dear Laurie,

Here it is another Christmas without you. How I remember those happy
Christmas mornings when I would get up early and go to my closet
and get your special presents and run and put them under the tree
before you work up. Just seeing the sparkle in your eyes and the
smile on your face were the best presents that any parent could ever
receive. How I miss those days, when everything we did was for you
and to make your life as happy and fulfilling as we could.
I remember the your first Christmas you were 55 days old,
we dressed you in your pretty red and white velvet dress and
you were sound asleep when we took your picture under the
Christmas tree. I would have given anything I had just to have you one
more Christmas. But I have all those wonderful memories of you f
or the 16 years 34 days you were on this earth and
they will have to do until it is time for us to be together again.

We'll love you forever.
